  2.  John Russell  Flu can have long-term effects too. My dad was hit by a bad flu bug back in the 'fifties, went back to work too early (as you did then) and was basically an invalid for the rest of his life. Many mental illnesses are thought to be caused by viruses affecting the brain in babies which leads to schizophrenia and bi-polar in later life. Looks like Covid 19 will just have to take its place in the long list of afflictions sent to try us.

  3.  @ThePurityControl  The whole system seems bonkers. There are three different bodies recording and reporting deaths and they all use different criteria. Having said that it seems entirely possible that Covid 19 is behaving like its cousin the common cold. The weaker strains survive and prosper while the stronger strains cannot pass on their dna/rna because the host dies.

  4. It's going to be a great test, isn't it? If there's no second wave after this, we'll know we're in the clear. If there IS then it will be entirely the fault of the selfish bastards who broke the rules.
