A Different Bias

There will almost certainly be a rise in cases, hospitalisations and deaths as winter approaches. Most of the latter will occur in people, usually elderly, whose treatment plans for existing conditions have been abandoned or compromised as a result of the virtual collapse of the NHS caused by lockdowns and other hysterical over-reactions to the pandemic.

The hats should be lined with tinfoil, just in case.

Just under 2,000 people a day die in the UK at this time of year as a rule. Now, about 4% have covid mentioned on the death certificate. Nearly all are over 80 and many are over 90. The current death rate is 12% above the five year average giving rise to the increasing suspicion that more people are dying as a result of lack of treatment for existing illnesses than can be directly attributed to covid.
2
Because the chances of your kid dying or getting seriously ill are virtually zero?
2
But children don't die from it - or even get particularly ill, except in very isolated instances.
2
And that is relatively normal. Currently deaths from all causes are only slightly above average and that more likely due to lack of treatment due to lockdowns as much as directly "with" covid.
2
These numbers are really insignificant when compared with the total population. Less than 100 children under 18 are thought to have died of covid in the US, mostly in the upper age group and very probably all with a pre-existing condition. Sad to say it appears that most hospitalisations and deaths occur in children who are morbidly obese.

@johnd.ingleson799 I'm aware of VAERS and I certainly have reservations about some aspects of the vaccination programme, but I don't see how this relates to my comment that the handful of children who have died in this country were almost all morbidly obese. Having said that, if you are suggesting they may also have suffered adverse affects from vaccination I wouldn't dismiss that out of hand either.

The Viking Union?

I keep wondering what the long-term plan is for your decisive government. Covid 19 isn't going away ever. So do you have lockdowns for ever?
2
But covid in children really is no big deal. Deaths and serious outcomes are statistically negligible and only seem to occur in children with pre-existing health problems.

Good

Mask Withdrawal Syndrome is a severe psychological condition. Carry on wearing a mask at all times and encourage others to do so.

@kevinbrum9940 Masks are more or less totally useless - but whatever keeps you happy. Mind you your attitude is quite refreshing. Most school teachers for instance seem scared of catching covid off the kids -not giving it to them.

Every unnecessary vaccine administered to a child is one a vulnerable adult in a poor country won't be getting don't forget.
1
Meanwhile elderly and vulnerable people in poor countries aren't getting any. Irish kids who don't need them are being given them instead.
1
But the numbers are tiny. And it's reckoned that just about all of the kids who died had pre-existing conditions. And every unnecessary vaccine given is one less that could go to a vulnerable person in a poor country who really needs it. And we still don't know the long-term effects either.
1
You're not someone likely to die, certainly. Only around 25 people in that age group have done so throughout the entire pandemic.

What speculation exactly?
1
@johnd.ingleson799 Which opinion do you disagree with exactly?

@johnd.ingleson799 What question?

I protest! They enjoy the whimpering!

What a grim world of fantasy you live in. Only around 25 children under 18 in the UK have died with Covid, at least half with complex multi-health issues.
1
@burtonschrader2 Children were never at risk and vaccinations ensure that symptoms in adults are reduced in severity. The more people who get infected in these circumstances the better. Each case is another step towards herd immunity.
