They are cute - until you see one tearing a new-born lamb from its mother's womb.

I rather thrill to the notion expressed in your final sentence.

Labour in pursuit of the oppressed rural classes?

@BruceWayne1958 The majority is not always right. In fact, it seldom is.

If you accept the fact that foxes are predators, then how do you suggest we rid ourselves of them?
1
@b62boom1 Trained marksmen??!! You should see some of my neighbours wielding a 12 bore!

@emm_arr You seem to enjoy it.

@emm_arr Only slightly

@johnhamilton5324 Foxes are a nuisance. They kill chickens and lambs and pheasants, as well as other birds. If uncontrolled they can quickly establish quite large populations which upset the balance of nature in the countryside. The fact of the matter is that if they didn't provide good hunting, they would probably be totally exterminated by now.

There are differences. Foxes are not bred for the sport. They are already there. It is a very difficult area, I admit; finding a balance between innate cruelty and a realistic appraisal of natural circumstances is quite hard.

@mongoliandude I have never been divorced by a wife. What makes you think I have?

I would have thought the Government would have better things to do. Foxhunting is a much misunderstood activity and self-righteous townies might like to consider that without it foxes are going to get poisoned and shot. Drag hunting is a cover for this traditional rural activity sure - but this obsession Labourites have with banning it is yet another pointer to the fact that your thinking is too-often governed by sentiment and wishy-washy do-goodery. It's very immature and inevitably leads to chaos. Turning your country into a coast-to-coast urban ghetto, populated by foreigners following alien religions, is going to be too high price to pay for that lovely warm, fluffy feeling you get inside when you show pity for dangerous creatures, just because they have lovely big eyes and warm endearing smiles.

@emm_arr Actually I was once married to a member of the British aristocracy. Been there. Done that. I enjoy hunting, although a riding accident a few years back has kept me more or less out the saddle in recent years. I sometimes feel that taunting lefties on YouTube is some kind of pathetic substitute for chasing foxes.
1
@emm_arr The British aristocracy do get married you know. Sometimes to quite unsuitable people.
1
@emm_arr I am actually lame. A riding accident a few years ago has left me pretty crippled.

@mongoliandude Try to spell it right next time you use it.
