@PhillipHilton But yes. Excess deaths in England and Wales are currently running at around 3,000 a week and are growing - exactly as was predicted by those of us who opposed lockdowns, social distancing and masking.

@errorswillmultiply1697 But you specifically requested that I made no reference to papers proving the case. Excess deaths are currently running at well over 3,000 a week and increasing weekly. They are from a wide variety of causes, including cancers, heart disease, infections, and alcohol and drug abuse. This applies to all age groups. As I said, this was something widely predicted by those who opposed the mitigation measures, which is no co-incidence. If you wish me to be more specific I am willing to do so but I'm afraid I will have to refer you to some scientific papers and statistics which you may have difficulty in understanding.

@errorswillmultiply1697 What was the degree of compliance? Are you suggesting that only those who ignored the measures are the ones who are dying? If this were the case they would be dying of covid, and they're not. No, those who are dying are those who could not get appointments to continue treatment for existing conditions, or who ignored troubling signs which in other circumstances would have caused them to consult a doctor. Or who didn't catch any colds or influenzas and when the new season of colds and influenzas came along they had no inbuilt resistance to mitigate their severity. Or who stayed at home drinking vodka and popping pills out of sheer fear and boredom. Exactly as predicted.

@errorswillmultiply1697 But you are ignoring the facts. I am not. You cannot deny the facts, nor can you apparently come up with an alternative explanation to the one I have given. This makes my explanation the only one available to you. So you must either ignore the problem or accept my explanation as correct.
