About right, really.

So people oozing empathy are going to stop them, are they?
2
@rbailey6949 What is empathy anyway?
2
Grow up.

That statement just about sums up how entirely divorced from reality Trump's critics and opponents are.

This is a great plan. The Arabs were given Gaza and billions of dollars in start-up money, as well as established businesses. They blew it on weapons, fancy uniforms and luxury lifestyles for their beloved leaders. Now it's time for civilised people to move back in.
1
As opposed to a slum filled with bonkers Arabs?
1
Not so much. These people can be bought.
1
But they are not a native population.
1
It is actually quite a sensible and forward-thinking solution to the problems in the Middle East.
1
Ain't it though?
1
Except that the present inhabitants of Gaza are not "indigenous.".

@MattWhite-vh6xh These are just words on maps. After the First World War some British imperialists with an affection for Roman history christened this vast area with the name "Palestine" after the Roman word for it, which, in itself, gave us the word "Philistine." It was just a sparsely populated stretch of semi-desert under the rule of the Ottoman Empire until the Zionists came along and turned it into something approaching a viable and civilised country.
1
@But the fact remains that the present population of Gaza is drawn to a considerable extent from the descendants of Arabs who flocked into "Palestine" in the wake of the Zionist reconstruction. And the Zionists did indeed "come along" . They came from America and Europe with the noble and intelligent purpose of recreating the homeland from which they had been cast out by at least two imperialist aggressors.
1
@ You can't change history. Zionism has been a force for good in the Middle East. The population of so-called "Palestine" was mainly nomadic herders with a few poverty-stricken villages until the Jews came along.
1
@ Both terms are entirely viable.
1
@ But it's not a country. It is just a vague term for a stretch of land without much value or interest.
1
@MattWhite-vh6xh But they simply haven't. The vast majority of "Palestinians" are the descendants of people from Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other Arab nations who arrive there during the 20th century to take advantage of the prosperity created by Zionist settlers.
1
@ No they haven't. Most are descendants of people who arrived there in the late 19th and early 20th century as a direct result of Zionist re-development.
1
@ No they haven't. Most are descendants of comparatively recent immigrants who only arrived to take advantage of the comparative prosperity created by Zionist colonisers.
1
@ Not many of them. Most are the descendants of far more recent immigrants.
1
I think you're wrong to look upon this as a "goal". It is a viable solution to a dreadful situation which the parents of those "innocent babies" are complicit in creating.
1
Tell it to your greengrocer.
1
Grab your attention, possibly?
1
.. as opposed to arms caches and women in hijabs? Sounds like a good deal.
1
@Faluzeer Not far off.
