  5. You could see this coming a mile off. While the Gray report might well be a damp squib, howling for police intervention was clearly a huge mistake. Those who did so have fallen into an obvious trap. Not only can the investigation be spun out for weeks and even months but the whole premise of the alleged "crime" can be called into question. Boris may be a bozo but Tory strategists behind the scenes are a very cunning bunch and sadly, some Labour supporters are very, very stupid. All is not lost, however. Boris will go as soon as the Tory hierarchy decree - but not until he has introduced right-wing legislation. The reduction in universal credit period is only the start.

  8.  @jiversteve  PS Here is the reply I got to my post. My brain cells aren't up to deciding, although I very much suspect this is from the impersonator. "The calls for an independent Scotland and the breakup of the UK are getting louder." It seems an innocuous enough remark, although entirely irrelevant to my comment. We are living in strange times.

  14.  @ADifferentBias  Heard the latest? If Trumpist Republicans gain the House and Senate this year they could actually make Trump Speaker of the House. They could then impeach Biden and Harris while Trump, being third in line, would automatically become President. Under the constitution the Speaker doesn't have to be an elected representative. He can be anyone Congress chooses. Trump 2023!
