Pretty much spot on. One major factor not mentioned though is that as long as the Tory right have Johnson by the balls they can force him to put their policies into place and rescind those of which they disapprove. Yes. Blackmail. Zero net carbon is the big target. Also we mustn't forget that the Tories have a habit of electing leaders who are relatively unknown to the general public. Sunak and Truss are unlikely successors. A right-wing populist who can emulate Trump and get the working class on side is probably waiting in the shadows.
