You begin with the assumption that alarmist climate predictions are accurate. What if they are not? They have been miserably inaccurate over the past thirty years and there is a growing body of evidence that man-made carbon emissions play only a very small part in global warming, which is solar forced and cyclic. Under these circumstances is it not reasonable for industries to resist this interference with their affairs? The only people to benefit from the situation appear to be hedge fund managers playing a volatile cap and trade market to advantage. One even suspects that the whole shooting match has been created for this very purpose.
