It seems to be working reasonably well.

The civilian deaths are incidental. These drones are a cheap way of destroying infrastructure. The panic they may cause is just a bonus. Russia has tried to keep civilian deaths to a minimum throughout this conflict.
28
I'm fascinated to know if these weapons are free gifts or if payment is expected some time in the future.
27
DON'T PANIC!!!! That's the big lesson.
18
Russia been predicting these sanctions and working out ways of circumventing them for years.
16
I'm thinking more 1929.
15
Zelensky does.
15
Ukraine did it. The evidence is overwhelming.
12
Russia will reply with a proper missile attack. What then?
11
Great. They can now both go down together. No more NATO. No more EU. Safer, freer world.
11
No. The Democrats did that.
10
This is one of the greatest con tricks ever performed. It makes selling the Brooklyn Bridge look like child's play. And it's STILL working! I am gobsmacked with admiration for its perpetrators and laughing myself silly at the fools who still fall for it.
10
Sanctions to Russia are much like prohibition used to be for American bootleggers.
9
What's sovereignty when it's at home?
9
Perhaps Ukraine is beginning to wonder if having an American boyfriend was such a great idea after all.
9
So what? Bahkmut isn't worth keeping. It's main function is as a killing ground.
8
From what I've seen supermarket shelves are full in Russia and western components and machine parts are easily evading sanctions through an obviously pre-conceived system of cover companies. In the UK, prices are soaring, there are intermittent shortages of various groceries and we are warned to expect power cuts this winter. I blame America.
8
Cheap, easy to use -practically useless and VERY profitable to produce.
8
Gamblers in an arcade, wondering whether its worth keeping putting coins in the slot.
7
But do the vaccines do a better job than ivermectin? We will never know because profit-mad Big Pharma crushes all opposition.
7
He lives in a world of fantasy.
7
Sweden remains a beacon of freedom and common sense in the face of covid hysteria. The facts speak for themselves. When compared with countries of similar demographics and population concentrations there is no discernible difference in death rates or hospitalisations.
7
The West has been providing support for Ukraine in its war of suppression against Donbass separatists for eight years.
7
Zelensky shows every sign of being taken over by the role for which he successfully auditioned. It is a great performance. A shame so many of the supporting cast are getting blown to bits.
7
But wise.
6
@SerenityMae11 When I look at the map I see Donbass and Crimea firmly in Russian hands. Which is all Putin ever wanted.
6
Or common sense.
6
@JustSomeTommy He's a politician. He lies.
5

5
@fatdoi003 And higher in the UK, Belgium, Spain, Italy , Hungary etc etc. What's your point?
5
Nu sounds like "nude" in French or "new" in English and Xi is a common name in China and is of course the surname of their present Glorious Leader.
5
@ismailyahaia3312 Are you talking about Zelensky?
5
@wom_Bat No. They'll be nice and warm.
5
4.7 million lndians choked to death on covid You would have lost them anyway. Now, in order to have given these mostly elderly or obese people perhaps a few more weeks of life, thousands upon thousands of younger people will die because other pathogens have been kept in check by covid restrictions.
5
Zelensky must go.
4
@rocksmo3384 Not at all. The Ukrainian army has been decimated. Hy else would they be training civilians?
4
@thegreatdane3627 They seem to be settling on a line largely on the Eastern edge of the Dnieper flood plain, and beginning to fortify it., ready for winter. The western sections of the annexed regions remain in Ukrainian hands it is true. But Russia controls much of the coastline and the main industrial areas. I think the Ukrainians will have great difficulty dislodging them.
4
And thus Ukraine becomes the aggressor allowing Russia to reply in kind.
4
Geographical proximity is not a factor.
4
@3TYKX But they are more similar in terms of demographics and population concentrations. Being on different sides of the same mountains doesn't make countries the same -or even similar.
4
@VFella The population of Crimea is 80% Russian.
4
When Ukraine is in ruins its people will bitterly regret not entering into negotiations. Putin's offers have been entirely reasonable and realistic from the start.
4
@leyvithanTech So Zelensky must go.
4
It will inevitably be the dominant strain worldwide very soon. Travel bans, lockdowns and masks will do nothing to stop this. We just have to hope that Omicron will live up to its early promise and be the mild but highly transmissible strain which will get us out of this mess.
4
Sadly masking and social distancing don't help much either. Nothing does.
4
@ybor20 There are masks and masks. Only a fully fitted N95 standard mask or above has any chance of restricting a covid 19 virus, and then only if worn in conjunction with a face shield and respirator. A cloth mask. or one of those little blue things, are utterly useless. The gaps in the weave are big enough to let coronaviruses of this type pass through between 1,000 and 5,000 at a time.
4
Behind Russian lines all will be warm and cosy.
4
@godblessthelessfortunate3175 More than 65% of covid patients in intensive care are fully vaccinated.
4
@godblessthelessfortunate3175 Are you an American? You are being comprehensively lied to. In the UK the UK Health Security Agency produces a Covid Vaccination Surveillance report each week. It regularly reveals over 65% of those in intensive care are fully vaccinated, as are over 83% of those who die. This is entirely reasonable, since those who end up in intensive care or in the morgue are going to be very elderly or severely immuno-compromised in some other way. It is hard to believe the situation is in any way different in the US.
4
That is what you are supposed to think.
