  2. As a tactic it worked extremely well. The large NATO-funded Ukrainian army is near enough destroyed dealing with the target it was presented with, and Ukraine is no longer in a position to retake Crimea and Donbass - which is what its new army was created to do.

  6.  @asynchronicity  Russia regards Crimea and Donbass as Russian. Historically this is correct. They are being reclaimed - not stolen.

  10.  @wyringen  It has some very good modern weapons of its own -plus those supplied by N Korea, Iran and others. Ukraine just seems to be getting the West's castoffs so far.

  12.  @harmless6813  Try thinking about it. A year ago Ukraine had a huge, well-equipped army ready to retake Donbass and Crimea. Now it hasn't.

  14.  @harmless6813  This is not true. The US and NATO spent the years between 2015 and 2022 providing equipment and training to Ukraine costing anything between $60 billion and $120billion. That army has now gone. A further $30-$40 billion has been invested to replenish losses. This may be enough for Ukraine to hold the Russians off for a while, but the chances of anything like a major offensive in the near future are pretty slim. Having said that - war is full of surprises!
