Rigorous studies using too high doses on patients whose condition was too advanced for the treatment to work. If you could point me at a study using minimal doses given just twice a week to patients within 24 hours of them first experiencing symptoms, or even better a purely prophylactic study, I would be most grateful.

@jugy This must be one of the daftest Trump conspiracy theories yet. The patent ran out years ago and it's made all over the world. One of Trump's subsidiary companies once upon a time had some shares in Sanofi worth a few thousand dollars. The company is huge and makes many, many products. It values Plaquenil so highly that it is giving away 100million doses away for free. You can buy hydroxychloroquine in the US for $37.50 a 100. The recommended dose is two A WEEK. Now can you really see anyone, let alone Trump, getting involved in a business with that kind of cost to profit ratio? What you need to do is wait for a company to come out with a miracle Covid cure that costs $2/3,000 a shot. Now THAT would be a business worth investing in. And it will be interesting to see who does. And that's why Big Pharma is trying so desperately to badmouth hydroxycloroquine. If it gets widespread use and stops people dying the "cures" they're working on won't be worth jackshit.

@jugy And you're 100% wrong. Hydroxychloroquine has been out of patent for decades and is made by many companies all over the world. There's just no money in it. One of the biggest suppliers is donating 100milion doses for free and you can buy it in the US for $37.50 per 100. Since you only have to take two a week that's a year's supply more or less. You misjudge Trump on this. This kind of business nobody wants. Watch out for the $2,000 a dose magic solution coming to your pharmacy soon, and wonder who has shares in that.

@mloftus8618 Sorry to interrupt, but I can, I hope. As I expect you know all traffic concerning this medication is being swooped on by Google thought police. I sent stuff to Gustav hours ago, but he has not acknowledged. This is a comprehensive report on all aspects of use and the video presentation is a truly excellent summary of the situation as it stands at present. I will send it immediately on a separate post to be on the safe side. Please, please tell me if you get it or not. This is most important.

@BTOBperrinemelody It's hard to know who to trust, so many lies are being told. Truth and justice will prevail. So many people want to destroy hydrocloroquine that I believe their motives must be sinister, not good. It is so incredibly cheap that if it is used widely and works (which I believe it does) then drug companies will lose trillions. This what is behind the hatred, I am sure. I gather that doctor you mentioned is now being re-instated and the accusations against him are revealed as lies, by the way,

The trouble is that all of the trials undertaken so far, as far as I am aware, use very much larger and more frequent doses than those used in the field and are given generally to hospitalised patients whose condition is too advanced for the treatment to work. Make no mistake, big pharma is terrified of allowing this treatment to be widely accepted. You can get a year's supply for under $40 dollars and that number doesn't sit well with companies who are working on miracle cures they want to knock out for thousands of dollars a dose. Any scientists taking part in the sort of controlled study Dr Fauci suggests would find their career prospects much reduced in scope I fear.

@gustavgnoettgen Didn't you get the last lot? Everything you need to know?

@gustavgnoettgen Has it come through?

@ookipuki I don't understand. Can you make your point more clearly?

@BTOBperrinemelody They obviously took too much. It is now being rehabilitated in your country I believe following the expose of the false and fraudulent paper published by the Lancet upon which your government took the decision to ban its use for Covid treatment. The recommended dose is two tablets a week by the way.

@missyo4519 It's produced all over the world by many companies. The patent expired many years ago and anyone can make it. This is what makes it so cheap. You can buy 100 for $37.50 and you only need to take two a week for it to work. They're giving it away -literally - one manufacturer has donated 100million doses for nothing. So it's not exactly a money-spinner, is it? Perhaps you think instead why the Democrats are opposing it. Perhaps for the same reason they are blocking attempts to provide financial aid to workers hit by the pandemic, eh?
