  1. This analysis assumes that lockdowns and vaccines have greater effects than they do, Lockdowns slow the progress of the disease. Vaccines reduce symptoms. Neither provides anything like total protection. This can only be approached through immunity via infection. The old adage that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" has never been better illustrated than by the way in which governments have reacted to the pandemic.
