  2. Utter crap. The average salary in Russia is a thousand dollars more than the figure you quote. Why is it so important for your well-being to believe such nonsense?

  3.  @joerogain5025  Out in the wilds, maybe. But there are towns and cities all over Siberia which compare very favourably with their US equivalents. Once again I have to ask why it is so important to you to believe that the Russian people are less well provided for than Americans? It simply is not true.

  4. Without Russia, Ukraine would not exist in its present form. Large chunks of it, including Crimea, were simply stuck on to it by the Russians during the Soviet era. They were Russian before and it looks like they will become Russian again.
