  1. As with most wars, the result will depend upon which side runs out of men and equipment first. Ukraine's forces are spread very thinly while Russia, despite all predictions, is resupplying on all fronts. By the time the patriot missiles arrive and are up and running it could all be over.

Sanctions have entirely failed to prevent Russian missile production and procurement, as is clearly demonstrates day by day in Ukrainian cities. They have also produced a new range of highly mobile armoured support vehicles with multiple cannons and machine guns, plus four laser-guided missiles. On the corruption front, the US has been forced to despatch teams of investigators to prevent the armaments they have sent being sprited away by Ukrainian oligarchs and sold on the black market.

  3. This is looking like Russia's plan from the very start. First, invade and engage and deplete the enemy, then bomb infrastructure to hell then attack again on two fronts. Ukraine will have to divert resources to the north, allowing Russia to secure Donbass and Crimea in the South. Which is all Putin ever wanted.
