Why are we having to support one side in what is basically a turf war between two gangs of crooks?

@Sempapax On this case the freedom to be ruled by one set of crooks as opposed to another - after tens of thousands have been killed, of course.

@stevenbaer9061 Does the concept of protecting your borders against foreign aggression enter YOUR mind? The Russian-speaking Donbass region of Ukraine has been subject to invasion by ultra-nationalist Ukrainian forces for eight years. Thousands have died. Ukraine is fully entitled to "chart its own independent path", even though this path means swapping one boss for another. It is not entitled to so, however, when it means dragging a large percentage of its population and its territory into a deal which is not to the advantage of that percentage. This is especially true when this re-alignment adversely effects a powerful neighbour who can only be expected to react angrily to such a move. Define: unprovoked. Define: sovereign.
