As an observer from across the pond in the UK I have to say that to our and many European eyes the US system of justice often seems so crude, cruel and Medieval that it it scarcely merits the name of "justice". Whatever the rights and wrongs of this case. the idea of a shackled prisoner dressed in demeaning prison garb shuffling into court under the glare of cameras typifies what is wrong about modern America. You can't go on like this. You really can't.
