@davidkennedy8929 That's not going to happen though. Crimea is Russian and a similar case can be made for Donbass. The people there would surely prefer Russian administration to living in a permanent war zone.

@steveborgmalta The whole of modern Ukraine is a Russian creation. Crimea, added in 1954 by Russia has an 80% Russian population. In the Donbass, added in 1922, the industrial areas and cities have similar proportions of Russian residents.

@corvomichele Zelensky brought this on himself. Putin 's solution was to grant autonomy to Donbass, acknowledge Crimea as Russian and for Ukraine to promise not to join NATO In my view these were entirely reasonable demands given the historical and ethnic situations of these areas. Under pressure from America and its lackeys Zelensky refused and instead set in motion plans to retake Crimea and Donbass, using a mult-billion $ army supplied by NATO. Invasion therefore was the only rational response. The tragedy is that now there is a good chance that Russia will get even more than it initially wanted at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives.
