  5. This has been America's war from the very start and even though only minor objectives have been achieved it makes sense to pull out now - with over half a million dead. Still, they were only a bunch of foreigners.

History tells us no such thing and, in any case, this isn't a situation where a nation is gobbling up another nation. It is a situation in which a nation which has been cheated by a bad treaty is attempting to retain resources which are in danger of being stolen from it. What history does teach us, however, is that war can be profitable, especially a proxy war in which those who are dying are not citizens of the nation which is gaining from the conflict.

Your suggestion seems to support the view that America is sacrificing the lives of hundreds of thousands of foreigners in order to protect its own interests. You appear to show no understanding at all of the true complexities of this tragedy, and your conceited attitude combined with your ignorance does you little credit.

  13.  markmierzejewski9534  Thank you for your kind advice. I realise what a fool I have been. Just imagine! I really thought this was just another American proxy war in which tens of thousands of foreigners die so that US corporations can show a profit! Now of course I see that America is simply making the world safe for democracy and any profit that comes its way is purely incidental. These of course are matters far, far, beyond my limited powers of comprehension, so I will now get back to my basket-weaving.
