  1. Slightly more complicated than that. Some Ukrainians tried to take their weapons with them and fighting broke out again. The Ukrainian commanders were later court-martialled, I believe. It was not a deliberate trap by the Russians. It was just badly organised and mutual mistrust resulted in a bloodbath with casualties on both sides.
