  5.  @valtonen77  They were stationed in Ukraine but designed to protect the SU as a whole. The command codes were Moscow and the Ukrainians couldn't fire them without somehow breaking these codes. To all extents and purposes these missiles were Russian which is why their ownership was transferred when Ukraine was created. It is perhaps a pity that the same common sense didn't apply to Crimea and Donbass at the time of these treaties. They too are Russian and if this had been acknowledged at the time we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.
