Me and a friend was up London buying records in Black Market Records and when we got to Leicester Square on the way home we saw the rioting. I shouted it’s turned into a riot. The Hippodromes neon lights were bombarded and a cop car got attacked and sped off before they got hurt. We stayed with it (not rioting, just observing) all the way to Covent Garden. On the way 2 cops grabbed a rioter and about 100 people started going towards them. Fair play to them they were standing their ground and were trying to get the bloke into the van, but it got so serious they just let him go and fled. Cops on horses were slowly pushing the rioters towards the centre of Covent Garden and they ended up in the closed in bit. There were shops with expensive crystal ornaments and they were using scaffold tubes to try and break the windows, but they were laminated and the police on horses were at one end and cops in riot gear at the other. Me and my friend saw this and just got out before the riot cops went in. We were lucky and probably would of got away with it as we were just watching. The police would have seen that but we got out anyway and made our way home. It was a proper buzz though. I will never forget that day.

It just makes people buy more cleaner cars. My mate has a car worth £500 and it is ULEZ compliant. It isn’t as if you can’t find a car that is cheap. It is mainly diesel that they are after.
