  3. How is london transport expensive? You can get from Abbey wood to Dagenham for £1.90 The trains going intercity are expensive but TFL is one of the best transport systems around. You can get from one point to another in no time with hardly a wait any more. Back in the 80’s buses did not arrive for 1/2 an hour or more and came in threes. Now they are spread out and you get one mostly with only a ten minute wait or less for busier routes. 1 minute if you have the app so you know exactly when one is arriving. I suppose it gets a little more expensive if you live in zone 5 or further out but I can travel from zone 4 in the East to zone 4 in the west for only £3.20 and that is only because you have to pass through zone 1. You can also travel from Dartford to Elm park for only £3.30 off peak and that is mileage. London travel is not expensive at all especially if you do not have to go through zone 1 on your way to your destination. Get an oyster or contactless because buying a single ticket is twice as expensive.
