I was given 2 packs of plant based mince yesterday and I have made a stew and would you Adam and Eve it, it tastes like the real thing because the texture is spot on. Now I would not go and buy it but it has surprised me. I thought it would fall apart like the frozen mince you can buy. If somebody made it for me like I have, I would not question it one bit. It has the exact texture of lean mince. I did cook it with 125g of lard though before putting the other ingredients (Tin of chopped carrots, tin of garden peas, tin of baked beans, potatoes, 2 onions, mushrooms, oxtail soup and lashings of gravy granules) in.

@totheoldworld No true but It must be nicer for veggies to have that authentic texture. Quorn just does not do it in a spag bol, but this stuff will. Also if you are a veggie and eat dairy and eggs then I do not really see a problem. It is the vegans that are anaemic. Me I am a full on carnivore but will try anything especially if it is a freebie.
