  1. That is if they get past the stage we are in. I doubt it very much. They would have exactly the same problems and the biggest problem is wars. Man has too many psychos in power who love money and war. I would place a bet that every civilisation that has been and will be has this exact problem. I am a big believer that we will destroy ourselves one day and if we don’t then nature will. Another thing is space travel to other stars. We already know that it is virtually impossible to get warp drive and to fuel a ship to get to any decent speed is astronomical. People like to dream but that is all it is.

  2. The most obvious thing is intelligent life is probably so few and far between. Let’s say there is one in every million galaxies at any one time. That would mean there is still about 200,000 in the visible universe. The problem is try picking a galaxy let alone their planet. There is your fermi paradox.

  3. What if the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs had happened 50 million years earlier or later. Then there might still only be animals on this planet. There might have been a short window for it to happen. What if it landed on the other side of the planet. That itself could also have stopped it also.
