The only way it would work is everybody would have to work. The welfare state cut. Everybody getting a job allocation depending on how educated they are, so basically you get the better jobs the brainier you are.
Then somehow an economic structure in force that makes you wait certain lengths of time to be able to get stuff you want.
The problem with this is there would be a limit to actually what you or anybody else could own.
There would be no private Jets, luxury cars, mansions etc.
There would be only stuff that everybody could own which might be stuff like a game console or nice bluetooth speaker, but it would be limited and mostly basic needs stuff that people needed to live a bog standard life.
A choice of holiday/vacation park to visit once a year for everybody.
It could work but you would have to do your bit to survive or be seriously injured and have the family look after you if you are with a bare state food handout to keep you alive.
You can see how difficult it would be to make it fair.
If you refuse to work then you get left out to dry.
Not a very nice life when you think about it. Like I say you can have a comfortable life as long as everybody did their bit and accept the role they are given.
The worst jobs like stacking fruit on pallets all day every day for the rest of your life, given to whoever gets given the lowest points achieved in a very stringent academic process based on a points system from say 1 to 10,000, and every year each person who takes the final exam, the points for that year determines where you are placed.
The best are going to get the entertainment, Judiciary, surgeon, veterinary, dentistry, accountancy jobs. The upper middle are going to get the nursing, police, firefighting, admin, teaching jobs. The middle the construction, driving, postal jobs. The middle lower the factory, retail jobs, and the lower the labouring jobs like working the fields, cleaning, security jobs.
The academic process will always determine who gets what because of such an intricate pointing system.
The thing is everybody would have to get the same wages or credits and the basics first earned before any little luxuries later on in life can be earned. A lot of stuff would be handed down to the new starters from the people who die so as there is a start there for everybody.
That is the utopia that they want.
To me that sounds like being a robot all your life which is pretty well dull if you ask me.
For everybody it would be same shit different day with no chance of ever changing that.
So yes capitalism with all its faults is a much better system, as long as it was run better with less corruption.
