  1. The distances between stars is so vast which means it would be virtually impossible to trade or travel between them. Time dilation is what stops it also. Find the Andromeda galaxy zoom page and navigate it. It is astounding just how many stars you see and it feels like it never ends. That is why we do not see a galaxy that looks strange as if it is colonised by a race. It would take forever.
