  1. It all depends on what is taken and if there are clues left behind. If a PlayStation is stolen then they are not going to put all their resources into it. If £10,000 of Jewellery is then they might go to some pawn shops or whatever they do when something like that gets stolen. Most people have Insurance and that pays for any stolen items. The problem is the backlog will get too much and just employing more police is just a further drain on public funds. To employ 50,000 more police just to look into said backlogs will probably bear very little fruit to be justified. Sad but true. If you have valuable stuff then you should have the money to get proper security measures fitted to your house. If you have not got the money then you are poor and we know the authorities do not care about the poor anyway. They see it as nothing was stolen so what is the problem. Sad sad state of affairs really and that money is the root to all evil. Maybe also if the government changed its drug policy once and for all maybe a lot of the crime that goes hand in hand with it might slow down.
