Those El Salvodorians in prison do not look like upstanding citizens. They don’t have them gang tattoos for nothing. Let’s just say some have gone straight and broke free from the gangs, does that mean it is okay to let them off for all the crimes they committed previously? The only way to stop the continuous cycle of new gang members is to get rid of the gangs in the first place. So be it if it means going after the lot of them. None are innocent as they commit crime or had a life of committing crime. Now they are paying the price and if it means a safe country in the making and breaking that cycle then so be it. I am fed up with the bleeding hearts always trying to call out human rights. If you are an upstanding citizen then you have nothing to worry about. They would rather the country slump back into its old ways and have the population terrorised on the basis that somebody is wrongly imprisoned. Those tattoos tell a story and not one of them is innocent from present or past crimes. They don’t have them tattoos as decoration. They have them because they are members of a gang that causes and caused insurmountable grief on the rest of the community. If it means the only way of turning around an unstoppable cycle of violent crime which means years of incarceration for those past and present gang members then so be it.
