The police and politicians can't save you or me it's up to ourselves. Canada needs its own 2nd amendment type laws. Law abiding Canadains need to be able to carry weapons for self defense this should include pepper spray and tazers and firearms. When you have secs to live or die police are always mins away.

@Synchro Metanom police will never be everywhere they are needed, and there will always be a place in Canada where firearms are needed for self-defense. What you're talking about is a grand utopia that never existed. Criminals will always find ways to hurt and steal from people, and until people can defend themselves with firearms, citizens will be defensiveless against them. It's a grand idea but impossible to implement.

@Synchro Metanom law abiding firearms owners are less likely to commit crimes than police officers. Canada is not the US. You can't compare the two. All of Canada has the population of California.

@Synchro Metanom and there are other countries that have these laws that don't have gun violence like the US does. The Swiss and the Czech are great examples. It's about reasonable citizens who are trained and licensed.

@Synchro Metanom I'm not a bot, but believe what you wish. Why is it every time someone disagrees with someone they call the other person a bot? I'm a Canadian worried about my follow canadains. I've been robbed 3 times, and my wife has been assailed. Every day on the news, it is another attack, another woman, set on fire or pushed on the rain tracks or raped etc. Canadains need to be able to talk about these issues without insulting each other.

@Synchro Metanom I agree with a lot of what you are saying minus the right to carry firearms for self-defense. I would say it's a human right to own firearms and be able to use them for self-defense. As long as you are licensed and trained with no criminal back round, I'm fine with red flag laws as long as they make sense. We are not far off from agreement. You're fine with pepper spray and tazers, which is a step in the right direction. And we will have to agree to disagree. I could be mixing up the Swiss with another country. But I do like how they vote on whether they send money or military equipment to overseas countries and how they are neutral on foreign wars.

@Synchro Metanom well there are different parts of libertarians I'm not anarchist, and I'm not a socialist and no communist. I believe in the least amount of government power over the people. The least amount of taxes and pretty much the government should stay out of our lives Taking personal responsibility for one's own actions.the right to own firearms, and use them for self-defense.

@Ahura Farahani yes you can't compare Canada to the US because all of Canada's population can fit in California, then there's the fact firearms owners in Canada are less likely to commit crimes then police officers and that over 90% of all firearms used in crimes in Canada come from the US the other percentage is unknown,stolen from gun shop's and people homes. Then there's our licensing to own firearms. I also said type laws, which doesn't mean everyone can own a firearm, just the licensed and veted ones. We also track the firearms sold in Canada thwy have to be in a safe with a trigger lock when you leave youe home you have to tell the police and you cant stop at a store to even buy a drink and the people who own firearms have background checks done on them daily they call your friends and family members they talk to your wife or husband.

@Ahura Farahani besides the US Iraq, Finland, Czech, Switzerland, Pakistan,Yemen ,Mexico, Guatemala, and Brazil, all have gun rights for its citizens and can keep a bar arms Mexico, Guatemala,unkaine, and the US all have firearms in their constructions
