I understand the feeling. I lost my father back at May 2019. My father, mentor, and best friend left this planet and I couldn’t see him again. I was drinking a little more than usual after the first week he passed. And to numb the sadness, I went back to work after that first week, even though my job offered me two weeks off from work. It was hard to deal with this mess, especially with my nephews because they’re so young and they lost their grandfather. But I cut my habits and I drink more moderately again like as before my father was still alive. I don’t believe in quitting something you like. I believe in moderation, but hard drugs in my opinion are too hard to moderate, even though I never tried drugs like cocaine, meth, LSD, etc. The pain of this loss still hurts til this day, but I can handle it far better than before
