@jimmywhite3149 Your mind is predisposed to see patterns, order, and design...but that doesn't mean it is always there. If the universe was designed to facilitate OUR existence (in preference to all the other living creatures), then the designer did a horrible job, especially since there are a thousand diseases floating around trying to kill us on any given day, and a thousand other dangers that are hovering over us like the sword of Damocles threatening to kill us at any moment. And no, it's more like living in a house and not knowing who built it, admitting that you have no idea who or what built it, and then going ahead and living your life being satisfied that you may never know. Pretending you know who or what made the universe and everything in it (including you) might make you feel good, but there is really no evidence to support the "God" hypothesis, and if you want to make a sort of negative inference like "It appears designed. It appears fine-tuned. Therefore, it must have been created by _______"(Fill in the name of YOUR particular "God" or concept of a god), go ahead. Making that inference or relying on some idea like "The order and design I see points to there being a creator" does not count as evidence in my view. I understand if you consider that sufficient evidence, but I don't.
