  1. I’ve often thought the same thing! How can we base characterizing different species strictly on morphology? Given our own great variations today.

  2.  @HighlyCompelling  But there are various life forms that share a genus name but are different species, quite varied and not necessarily derived from a recent form. Guess all the Homo genera may have evolved from a common ancestor, millions of years ago. So they don’t necessarily have to lead to us, sapiens.
