Not for long. The selection patterns are thinning, and Walmart falls to high for dumbos that buy chips. Too low for those that buy produce. I mean walk into Walmart and you know its trying to pretend to be a grocery store but if you actually like the types of items you'd buy in the deli or bakery, buying them at walmart makes you sad. Stores currently still show a convenience mindset when grocery store is fast becoming a desperate serious weekly purchase for most people. Real economic decisions like bulk buying (costco), high quality options for the occasional splurge, and bottom of the barrel corner store junk selling in bulk is the only sh*** that's gonna be left. There is too much space in Walmart dedicated to impractical or poor imitation options.

Well maybe moving it back a week like an oligarchic kabal of harry potter golems was not a great idea

And a lot of this has to do with who they are hiring and who they are not.

@wagashiohagi And btw You don't put ginger on the fish. Its to clear the palate between pieces not drown it out. And it is already precisely sauced. Doesn't need a soy bath. This man is an artist. He has spent 10 years learning how to make a tomago. The egg. THE EGG.

@taroman7100 That is 100% on the disconnect between wages and productivity. The entire labor market feels it. If someone gets fired somewhere they have to go somewhere else and take less money. Multiply that 10 million times or so while 10 million people cross over at the same time and you get people who are working to pay for their food and phone and skipping everything else. And you want to complain they have a bad attitude. No the problem is your country is poor, you wanted deflationary pressure by importing more people, and now the only service you any of us can afford is garbage. That's what happens when you devalue your currency to conquer wasteland on the other side of the planet. Good work DF.

@misstekhead Its not just abuse. You used to be paid a wage you could live on. They devalued the currency to try and conquer the middle east. Mostly it was just money laundering. 36 trillion dollars later, everybody is miserable. Well its going to fall to some people to take the blame eventually. It wont be the retail workers.

@wagashiohagi That's what you sound like

@wagashiohagi Lol I felt I was insisting on myself in my first two comments so I wrote a third where I just mimicked a very snobbishly written scene from I think Billions where it seems like a reddit mod wrote the scene.

@BlueRidgeBubble What factory do they make green peppers in genius. I'm not talking about the chip aisle. I'm talking about the grocery store. You know where they sell meat and vegetables and a bakery and a deli and and a refrigerator section all filled with, at walmart at least, the lowest quality version of those products from the bottom of the truck. You didn't notice the difference at Nicer stores and at your local walmart? They specifically go out of their way to make deals with suppliers for the "ugly" produce at a discount , so they can sell at extra low prices so that it is commercially viable to open stores in poorer neighborhoods.

@MichaelKLee-jf7qs nah nothing you can do when your government prints the currency this hard and then covers for it with illegal immigration. That is a sinking ship.

@MichaelKLee-jf7qs "diversify, think harder" what exact rocket science progress do you think is happening while youre checking multiple different stores and your coupon book? The sign that people need to tighten belts this hard at the grocery store in not a sign of new times but old ones. Its regression. For hundreds of years we had nothing but progress barring natural disasters. All of a sudden the price of food of all things is ballooning beyond the reach of paychecks.
