Yeah I started with PHP. Looking back I wonder why not just shoot myself in the neck. Or even better, I tried to transition to more interesting companies and projects with C++, Python, and Laravel ... LOL. Shoulda just started gargling Java and .NET from the start. My region wouldn't even support me if I had been learning React. It'd be better but... theres no money for new shit compared to banks and bombs and geriatric services.

@bartlx jesus christ it's exactly what I feared. I thought C# would be the hellscape but I'm sure they are just separte circles in the same hell. At least with Java I can mod minecraft.

@Kabodanki More like the society needs us. Not the other way around. Lots of young guys going through this. Not like the young women are having trouble finding work.

@roymarshall_ No it's not. If your gripe is righteous in that the society is not running based on merit, all you have to do is detach yourself from dependence on existing capital and work from there. If we're right, and we are, we will be syphoning off idiots and eating well for a long time. You don't get to fuck with those levers without consequence. You know how hard it is to sue shoplifters mass-theft from a store? What's going to happen when the entire younger generation becomes full time digital pirates? And I don't mean stealing movie copies. I mean ripping entire SaaS.
