@stayfaded69 No, central México and the 2 sierra madres have pine-oak forests and steppes, you dont see real desert till you pass the bajío region. More similar to the Sierra Nevada.

@andresiglesiast If im not mistaken, it is caused by the nearby mountain's rainshadow effect, there's also another semiarid region in central veracruz, caused by the towering volcanos.
