  1. I wonder the same thing, Northern California and the rest of PNW have amazing mild weather, reminiscent of northwestern europe, land still fertile. It's not so bad because redwood forests can still thrive without disturbance. Perhaps it is the fact that the area was difficult for Europeans to access, because the area had one of the largest populations of indigenous people in canada with an estimate of 300,000 pre european contact.
