  1. Houston is not tropical either, it is the same climate that I mentioned, the only tropical places in America are the final tip of Florida and Hawaii.

  2. The climate is humid subtropical which is the mildest from all temperate climates and along with Mediterranean the best climate for human settlement , maybe you haven't been in a real tropical region cos the difference is huge.
