  1. In latin america people understand that our cultures are quite mixed, the problem is that defining yourself as something you are not sure to be,it can give the impression of a wanna be. For example, saying youre white could be overstated , since a lot of people who are mixed can look "white"; thats why people prefer to say "mestizo" or "pardo" to avoid mistakes. Americans in the other hand love to brag their heritage, it seems that everyone is doing dna tests these days lol, who tf says im 5.5% italian?. It's good to know one's origins but some people are just obsessed.
