Subsaharian Africans are more ancient than European ecotypes and they are much less hairy, fur losing probably appeared on the tropics, where nocturnal temperatures never dropped below 70 F, humans were already wearing clothes when arrived at Europe and Northern Asia, so it already functioned as a termal barrier.
