  2. I definitely think that Europe and Japan will be tied in around the US. Like you say, there is plenty of heritage and cross sharing, plus the oceans connect us.

  3. Space Colonies are gonna be all indoors, and all techno affairs. It will be nothing like Earth Colonization. On Earth, all you needed was dumb muscle. In space, everyone will be a scientist or engineer. On Earth, you needed to conquer the existing inhabitants. In space, there are no existing inhabitants. In space, we will have robots and machines for the grunt work.

  4. I think there will be the populism of technology. Take the internet, Youtube, Smartphones. Cutting edge, but allow connectivity and individualism. Internet lets people work from home for some jobs, which allows people to move out of cities and back to rural areas. I think technology will continue along those lines, allowing people to go back to the farm, so to speak, but with new technology that makes it easier.

  5. The idea is good, just like the idea of Snopes and fact checkers is good. But the reality doesn't always measure up. I don't know anything about Ground News, so I'm just talking in general.

  6. I think inequality and caring about it is important, it drives growth and output. We don't want a docile population. Humans are dirty, they are inconvenient, they are violent, they are unfair. But that has been our journey.

  7. I think in the short run, such conservatism may actually help with state formation in Africa. Then again, ethnic conflict in Africa is a big problem.

  9. Latin America has less ties with Europe than the US does. Yes, Latin America was settled by Europeans, but so was the US. When the US increases ties to Latin America, it will be finally fulfilling the promise of the new world instead of clinging to the old. It's like the adult child finally moving out of the parents home and getting married. The US is the big shot, but the Europeans want to do things their own way, and have veiled contempt for the US. When Europe is ready, the US will come back. The US has more natural interests in South and Central America, the Caribbean, and Canada, than in places like the Middle East or Russia, which are European concerns.

  10. I think Europe will eventually be a satellite around the US, along with Latin America and Far East Asia. The Globe will eventually be unified as we go into space, and the best bet to unify the Globe is the US. It already almost happened now, but we are at our limit and Globalization is receeding for now. But on the next try, I think it will happen, and it will be a natural progression.

  11. I could see it. God is god of the whole earth, according to the Bible. I'm LDS (Mormon), and we believe that Jesus visited the Natives in America after his death, and taught them as well. And I remember I met someone who theorized that Jesus could have visited the Hmong people of China. Of course, he was Hmong himself. I met him in rural Arkansas.
