  4. I think it will be fine. Women benefit from the success of men. Men do not hate women. There is a backlash against 3rd and 4th wave feminism which is anti men and family. But given how many countries are suffering from demographic decline, that might have a point.

I've been a missionary, and you find people of all walks of life and situations looking for something to believe in. Whereas I talk to people who went to Europe, and it's a lot more closed off. Americans are believers.

  9. I know he talks about Peter zeihan a bit. I bought and read his book, Disunited Nations. Great book, by the way. He said that Germany and Russia are heading for demographic collapse, but that France is looking good. He said that the UK will go with the US, and will take a little bit to build back up anyway, while France is already making moves, and so had the advantage. My main takeaway was that as the US pulls back, it will turn more to allies in the area to hold things down, with potential support. France and Japan were two he mentioned, and I think India could be another.

  16. The poor of today are much better off than the poor of old. That's what he meant, and it's true. The rich are richer, because there's more wealth. But there are also more rich people. It's still not ideal, but Marxist conflict theory has been proven false.

  17. Russia definitely makes more sense as a western ally. Aside from old feuds, their greatest threat is China. Especially as the arctic starts melting and resources are available. China is in perfect position to reach out and take it. Russia, Canada, and the US are gonna have a whole northern front on their hands. They're gonna have to learn to play nice and work together.

  18.  @ingold1470  Like Victoria 2, where capitalism means having the computer, in the guise of capitalists, choose how to build your factories. Or you can choose a more planned, centralized economy, where you get to choose what factories are built and where. :D In a video game, you have limited scope, near perfect information, job security, restart ability, and the ability to call in the army to slaughter rebels. :D And none of it is doing harm to an actual human. Like you say, the video game that makes the best option to just let the market work would be pretty boring. I think that's why it's not so popular irl too. People want to be doing something, even if its counter productive.

I think privacy is gonna go out the window (big tech knows everything about you, and they've already sold it to China and the US government), but I think that internet libertarianism will never die. That is the war for our time. Although privacy in terms of what we willingly share could (and should) go up. Part of the problem of social media is that people overshare.
