  1. The sad situation is when different programs store user settings, additional files (plugins, fonts, sprites, etc.) and user documents in different places, often unpredictable. It seems that there is “.config” for settings, “.local/share” for additional files, and “documents” for documents. But no, the programs will litter the root of your home directory.
