People working full time should be making enough to live on. We need a higher minimum wage now.

Those small business would benefit because people would have more money to spend at their business. Not only would they have more money to spend but they would be more inclined to use it at small businesses. A public that doesn't have to do anything and everything to cut corners and save a buck is less likely to use their money at the Walmarts of the world and more likely to use it at the mom and pops of the world. Ultimately any business that can't afford to pay it's employees enough to live on is a business that shouldn't exist.

If that is the case, and there will be examples of this even if there will be far, far, far more examples of small businesses benefiting from an increased minimum wage for the reasons I've given, then so be it. This was the same argument used to justify keeping slavery around back in the day. I wouldn't have found this argument compelling back then and I don't find it compelling now coming from you. Like I've already said, any business that can't afford to pay it's employees enough to live on is a business that shouldn't exist. Period. I don't care how big your business is. I don't care if you are just opening the doors. You either have a business and a plan that involves paying your employees enough to live on or you don't. And if you don't then you shouldn't be in business. I'm not going to let you use employees getting paid dirt wages to prop up your business anymore then I'm going to let you use slaves to do it.

@eleksitia regarding, "I will admit that I might have been wrong." This the difference between an honest actor and someone who is disingenuous. Even honest actors can have too hard a time admitting they might be wrong. Being willing to admit being wrong, or even admitting possibly being wrong, takes far more intellectually honesty then just entrenching oneself and doubling down. I appreciate the debate, your respectfulness, and openness to my points. I apologize for being blunt to the point of being rude. I concede I can be a dick.

@eleksitia regarding, "You are a lot nicer than many on the Internet," I can be a real dick, especially with people that I think are being disingenuous and there are lots and lots of paid trolls about that I will straight up go off on. It is frustrating giving someone a perfectly logical argument that is just dismissed because the one hearing it isn't an honest actor. You on the other hand were clearly interested in an honest debate, were open to ideas, and were willing to listen. It is refreshing after dealing with the Marlon White, whyamipink, preposterous, Joe Noyes, and Harry Manns of the world. If you don't know any of those names I envy you and suggest you just ignore them. It's like trying to talk to a wall. Take care.

@eleksitia yeah, he is no communist. He isn't even a socialist in it's truest sense even if he does advocate for certain socialist programs. Like I said I'd be curious to know what you would disagree with him on if you do think of something. It's my experience that pretty much everything he advocates for (policy-wise) are wildly popular with the public in general. And if you don't no big deal.

@eleksitia I would again like to reiterate my thanks for your being open to what I was saying. Being open to willing to listen to reason (which I like to think I was doing), is a sign of true strength and wisdom. Everyone is wrong from time to time but too few are willing to admit it. The ones that do are to be admired for it. Peace.

@Sergio Aguirre regarding, "What people accept to work for is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS." My tax dollars are my business. And when they have to go to people doing the right thing and working full time because they aren't getting paid enough to live on that is absolutely my business. Republicans claim to value work. They don't want moochers. But when people go out and do the right thing by working they suddenly stop caring about them.

I find this funny coming from someone who wants to enable large corporations to leech off the labor of their workers by not paying them what they are worth. I find this funny because I'm the one giving a path to get people off welfare programs by making sure they are getting paid what they are worth.

@Sergio Aguirre regarding, "says who?" I do. That's why I said it. Regarding, "minimum wage is designed for ENTRY LEVEL work." There is no "design." It's just work. Work they should be paid for. Aren't we suppose to value work? Don't we think people working 40 hours a week are doing the right thing? Shouldn't they be paid enough to live on while they do? Because I say they should. And if they don't get paid enough to live on who makes up the difference? The government. And I personally am tired as fuck of letting my tax dollars subsidize corporations who are not paying their employees enough to live on. Regarding, "teach them skills." This is why we have schools and education.

I'm sure you think you are somebody, who has authority, and is using it to tell me what I need to think and do. Regarding, "Freedom is deciding the life you live" There is, has been, and always will be limits to freedom. Those limits are best used when people are using their "freedom" to hurt others. Regarding, "no two people will make the same wage." Do you bother to think about the things you say before saying them? People make the same wage all the time. Like currently there are lots, and lots, and lots of people who make the same wage right now... the minimum wage. And even if you got your wish and there was no minimum wage there would still be people making the same wage. Think before you speak and maybe you wouldn't come across so idiotic when you do. Regarding, ""living wage" is a bullshit term" It means that people should be paid enough to live on. It is a pretty simple, pretty easily understood concept. Regarding, "Anyone who wants to use governemnt force on regular people to get them to do something is evil." Like those evil abolitionists who wanted to force people to stop slavery.
