"poor maintenance, incompetence or terrorism" It's poor maintenance due to capitalism. As long as someone at the top is getting rich things like this WILL happen.

Disasters like this will always happen in a capitalistic society if there is profit to be made from it. Let's say the railroads were nationalized there wouldn't be 0 disasters but there would be significantly less in a system that doesn't prioritize profit. You say this like a world where everyone gets access to the same health care system where you are a peasant or rich isn't possible. I promise you it is. At least in theory. So maybe let's try. And if our leaders know they will be getting the same health care the peasants do then maybe they will make it pretty good. Ultimately socialism, with it's flaws, is far superior to capitalism and it's not even close.
