  1. I absolutely have heard Bernie talk about the need for criminal justice reform even if there is a case to made that could talk about it. But that could be said of literally any issue. Furthermore those issues are not independent of one another. For example people who are educated are less likely to go to jail regardless of race. That is a way to keep people out of jail even if it isn't the only way.

  2. I very much disagree with people that don't vote but I do understand it. We live in a country where the two top options for president in 2016 were two of the most despised people in the country. I understand why that would cause apathy. While I happily voted for Jill Stein that is far from getting a president I respect and wanted. All that said people still need to vote.

  3. I very much agree that shame is ineffectual at getting people to vote for something but think that shame can prevent people from voting for something. For example I think that shaming a Trump supporter isn't likely to make them vote FOR someone else but it does, I think, have an effect to prevent them from supporting him or someone like them going forward when done correctly. That said this is not a great method and is hardly the only way to sway opinion but humans are a social species who are very capable of feel shame.... especially when that shame is justified. I voted for Obama. I feel shame for it and I'm going to try and never do something like that again.

  4. Jill wasn't perfect but she was the only person running that I actually wanted to win. I can't tell you how sad and frustrated I was that she only got about 1 percent of the vote. (So I'm told. There is a part of me that has trouble accepting that as fact.) I'm not familiar with Vermin Supreme but let's hope it doesn't come to that in 2020.

  6. Regarding, "I'm talking about the guy who says he is an independent" Which I'm thinking he does because that is how he feels in heart of hearts and wants to make sure other see it as well. Regarding, "ran for president as a democrat" For about a half dozen logical reasons that I suspect you want to pretend don't exist like exposure for his ideas, not wanting to split left leaning thinkers, the electoral college, and the millions of sheep who were voting for the democrat regardless of their name to name a few. Regarding, "supported the democratic nominee" Like he said he was going to when entering the race. Who said over and over and over how much he thought Trump sucked and how much he didn't want Trump to win. Who certainly didn't want to be blamed for him should he win. You act like this was surprising. It wasn't. Would you want to be blamed for Trump? I wouldn't. He is like Hillary Clinton but with an overt side of in your face racism. Like it would have been had he not run so that they literally would have had no reason to rig the primary in the first place. You want him to be a fucking superhero who literally does it all for you.
