I consider myself a progressive and I like Wikileaks because I like transparency in government. As long as they keep releasing information that is true, and I have no reason to think they have lied about anything, I will support them.

wiz 9496 that is some top notch trolling.

Yes the DNC will do anything and everything they can to prevent Sanders from winning but there are not enough tricks in their playbook to keep him from winning. Regarding, "Didn't the DNC just purge all progressives from the organization?" Yes but not all that important to his campaign in all honesty. And if Sanders wins corporate dems can be purged just the same way. Regarding, "Don't they still have super Delegates?" Yes but I am confident they will fall in line and support the winner of the most pledged delegates. The establishment is corrupt but they are not stupid. If they are used to usurp the will of the voters, like they have never done, they will very possible lead to the destruction of the party. I would be ok with that. Regarding, "Closed primaries?" Yup. It is bullshit but their message is clear... they don't want you to vote in their primaries. Which means we need to make sure anyone and everyone does. Regarding, "what will be different from 2016" When he entered the race in 2016 he was virtually unknown and down 60 points and still he barely lost. In 2020 he will enter with the name recognition of a rockstar and is rightfully the most popular politician in the country. Hillary was portrayed as inevitable as an effort to try and suppress Sanders support. In 2020 Sanders will be the one that is inevitable. He is going to crush anyone and everyone that tries to stop him. The game has clearly changed.

wiz regarding, "I'm serious." For your sake I hope you are not.

wiz regarding, "I'm not here to entertain." You shouldn't be here at all. You need to get your lazy ass out of your mom's basement and get yourself a job.
7
wiz regarding, "I'm at my job" It is nice to know that "Correct the Record" hasn't laid everyone off.

wiz you are really disappointing me. You went from a really great troll to really pathetic trolls very quickly.

Fortunately for the country it isn't exclusively up to the DNC and primary voters have a say in the matter.

stephen regarding, "The voting machines..." I honestly don't trust the voting machines but that doesn't mean I'm not going to vote and give up without a fight. Sanders is going to be such a clear favorite in 2020 that if the voting machines say he loses the country will be forced to take notice.

Jeremy regarding, "third party surge." I support your desire to improve 3rd parties. If the "democratic" party nominee in 2020 is a corporate stooge like Biden, Booker, or Harris I will be looking for a 3rd party candidate to vote for. But I think that is rightfully plan B and I am pushing for a progressive to win the dem nomination in 2020 in part because of the legit point sbears made about the general election. Things are not going to get any better without winning elections and there is no bigger election than the presidency. We have the best opportunity we have had in some time to actually get a progressive in the WH. I'm not going to sacrifice it just because people are rightfully pissed at the "democratic" party.

Those are all pretty good replies but none of them are all in bold. Checkmate HowSci.

Regarding, "a job in congress is nothing compared to the private sector?" Clearly you feel very strongly about this. I can tell because it is in bold. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't about their job in congress. It is about the revolving door. You seem to kind of understand this when you say, "any Dem, in any seat, could quit and become a lobbyist." as if they don't when they leave their job. As if they are not a bunch of fucking sellouts. As if they are doing it out of the goodness of their heart. As if congresspeople are struggling are not rich as fuck. As if the Clinton's didn't leave office dirt poor after paying for Bill's lawyers and proceed to get rich as fuck doing what exactly? Regarding, "The kids..." Sweet condescension. Regarding, "There's a reason holding office is referred to as "public service."" There is a reason our "public servants" are all rich as fuck.

Regarding, "You don't seem to have grasped anything I said." What a lazy and pathetic way to not address my points. Regarding, "Bye now." That works for me. I wasn't under the impression this was going to be a good place for intelligent conversation but I thought it important to state the obvious reasons why your words were just a bunch of polished bullshit.

Regarding, "we don't need the democrat label anymore. it's fatally tainted." Yes it is rightfully tainted. But the quickest way to get a major party that represents the people is by taking over the "democratic" party hostile takeover style. We need change now. And that is the quickest and easiest way to get it (not to be mistaken with easy).

Don't do it if you don't have the money but he has a right to try and make a living doing what he does. I'm sure he isn't trying punish you but rather he is just trying to do something to thank his patrons. Don't overthink it and don't spend the money if you don't have it to give.

Pumpkins regarding, "They care about third parties and sticking it to the dem party above all." I disagree with them about the strategy going forward but I get it. The "democratic" party is a dumpster fire. Voter roles being purged. Progressives being purged. A rigged primary. Hope and change was same ole same old. People are rightfully furious with the party. People are rightfully distrustful of anyone with the label. Lots of these people were lifelong democrats who have been utterly betrayed by the people they thought were there to represent them and are ready to go anywhere else to get actual representation. But you are right that people still need to be logical about how to proceed. I am convinced that hostile takeover of the party is the best plan to get what we want but we need to be building alternatives as well at the same time. We need to be doing both and not committing to just one strategy.

Regarding, "you think that Bernie Sanders will be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020" Yes I do. Although what Tom Perez and the party did was sleazy as fuck I think you are overestimating the importance of who the leadership members are to the results of the primary. It is not nothing but ultimately primary voters are going to have their say and I am confident they are going to support Sanders overwhelmingly. Regarding, "it takes time to build momentum for a third party" Yes it does. Jill Stein got about 1 percent of the vote against 2 of most despised people in the country. Regarding, "what the hell was DemExit" A way for people to say they are dissatisfied with the "democratic" party. There are more self identified independents in the country than dems or republicans but the fact of the matter is that the majority of those "independents" are going to vote for a major party candidate in the 2020 presidential election.

I edited my comment. Hopefully that makes my point more clear.

Ste regarding, "I think the idea of reforming the Democratic Party is currently a desperately hopeful and almost unattainable ideal" I have no illusions that this is going to be easy. It won't be. The establishment will do anything and everything to stop it. They would rather lose to republicans than lose to progressives but I am convinced it is very possible, in part, because we have a not so secret weapon in Bernie Sanders. Regarding, "that will hopefully occur during the midterms." No shot although there is reason to be hopeful that some progressives can win some elections. But the party leadership is going to continue to be a dumpster fire until 2020. Regarding, "The current corporate establishment members of the DNC need to go, they don't deserve to be there." I very much agree. The only way I can see this happening is by getting a true progressive to win the nomination in 2020. The nominee holds immense power to fill positions, make reforms, and shape the direction of the party. Part of the reason why the party is currently so fucking terrible is because Hillary "won" the nomination in 2016. As long as we get the right leader in 2020 they get to pick a progressive chair, who picks the people under them and so on. Corporate dems could be purged the same way progressives were purged but to do this we need a progressive as the nominee. Sadly until then the party is going to continue to be soulless.
