Artificial intelligence will soon be able to value every single thing for its carbon value and it could be carbon credits, that would be equitable and fair throughout the world and kept global warming in check, none of you would have jobs other than the society service of two to three years everyone has to do, basic food would be supplied, same as accomodation and of course free medical care. Robots do everything else and we all go back to painting landscapes. Added : I @zark0g, would effing well love it.

This means that natural change in the UK – the difference between births and deaths – was a negative figure of 6,438. In Scotland, there were more deaths than births each year since 2015, and for Wales this was the case each year since 2016 All countries are having an aging population situation, soon those over 65 will be around 25% of the population, some are already there, this has never happened before, that the age pyramid is no longer a pyramid, that even percentage's of people of all age groups are going to be alive. Added : 23 countries are going to lose 50% of their population by 2100, Japan for example will lose 50 million people overall by the end of the century. So the thing is if every country is at full employment and deaths are more than births then countries soon are going to need to find different ways to measure the systems health because growth isn't going to be the metric used anymore.

We do live in a system that relies on growth, the population growth rate in the UK is 0.6% per year, builders of new homes do need customers. The fertility rate is only 1.5 births per woman, below the population replacement rate of 2.1 births per woman so if you want less immigrants then have more babies.. The issue is whether you want population decrease and then job losses will occur then, how far do you decrease it too.?

@madmountainman5197 Money is a product, it costs almost nothing to produce and you pay it back with hours of your labour into your own bank which they then lend out to the tune of 90% of it, why do you think they are idiots to get as much of it out there as they can if they can get such a great return and over so many years? Buying a house these days means the bank gets the same value of the house in interest, 100% of the value is loan shark territory.

@ronnieince4568 Middle of a pandemic when they got pregnant nine months beforehand doesn't mean what you think it does imo. Nevertheless you are talking about something a decade old, and only taking the data from 2010 when deaths decreased and births increased, the cross over line has happened almost a few times in the late 70's 80's and late 90's, there definitely hasn't been an average of 200k in the last 30 years looking at the graphs now. The historic fact is that the world doubled in less than three generations UK is no different but to expect 200k ever again while fertility rates are below replacement but you are completely wrong to think 200k is the figure you should bandy around now as it is not anything to do with the reality now or going into the future. The future is more deaths than births and that will be the norm for quite a few decades.

@ronnieince4568 Also children being born now doesn't have much of an impact on housing nor would children of immigrants who come, while they are added to the total number it doesn't mean you should look at total numbers as an impact on housing, let's imagine half of the numbers are children so half of total dwellings could be needed, now we are down to 0.17% growth, which is stuff all if you are a builder of new properties. When the ageing population passing gathers speed and passes away this should mean more properties come onto the market and around the modern world this is happening, oldies in three or four bedroom homes are staying until they die., when they go property could crash. As I mentioned initially 0.6% grwoth was the plan, we are down to 0.34% and it is expected to decline till at least the end of the century and the world is expected to reach peak popualtion by the middle of this century so the question remains, when its a multi decade lowering of the popualtion in uk from 2055 till the end of the century would you want immigrants then and if so then why not import their children now because they will be the longest consumers therefore add more to the govt coffers.

@ronnieince4568 What do you mean Actually we are aging very slowly? Who said there was a speed that is normal? The point was we are aging as a planet, which still stands. The work ethic is a tricky one because it isn't needed as much, soon with artificial intelligence being able to take quite a few jobs and even now a lot of jobs are pointless, what do we do with all this spare time, something that couldn't be imagined 100 years ago but if they could they would think the world was better because of the amount of spare time we now have. We were supposed to make the world better otherwise what was the point then older people like yourself say " You don't have it as hard as I did" and fair enough too but isn't that called progress?

@ronnieince4568 I hear you, it's been a huge rush in all the modern countries and now it's Africa's turn, they are going to be almost half of the world by 2100 and now in modern countries it's a probable multi decadal recession coming. Even though there's billions that would come they are all broke. I'd say the UK has sucked as much money that it can in and with all countries at full employment it's getting harder and harder to get quality immigrants.
