So tourism only goes to there or is this a part of the journey to Antarctica because the massive cruise liner that was in the harbour seems as though it would do more than one island? Nevertheless, ocean tourism where they never get off the boat is still the pollution of a however many hundred people, along with bunker oil, why not have one area in the world free of it, why every single sq centimetre has to be covered by tourism regulated or not..

  8.  @Summitspeedfly  With all the forever chemicals added to cold weather clothing and would be the single largest source, I still do not believe that decades of this has zero affect. People needs to move and these microplastics would fall off clothing in the millions. How many kids do I have? Do you need to make this personal to discuss the point, seems a big leap unless you have a point to make yourself feel better? A person with no kids might be on a sailboat to ANtartica to film for his channel, dropping microplastics in the trillions, so then people will follow his example of using fossi; fuels to have fun, in some of the most pristine places in the world, while trying to make excuses for his actions then might point fingers without proof..Sad but that's how some people are, they get defensive.

  10. in a normal 60 litre tank is the same amount of energy as my total electrical energy for 3.2 months in a sub tropical place over summer with the air con going 24-7. A huge amount of energy in each tank gets lost as heat, 70% for diesel and 75% for petrol and it takes 15% of the energy in oil to refine it into it's different products. If someone uses a tank a week for a year that is equal to 17 years of my total electrical energy, going skiing to ski on snow that is fast disappearing is not the best idea moving forward.
