Oh my goodness... it's like you don't understand economics, or chocolate,
I was talking about chocolate, there's an ad out at the moment for whittakers chocolate, now I don't know if you know but chocolate is made with milk, they have an ad in NZ where they say "we take cocoa from ghana and combine it with fresh milk from NZ cows"...now this is the point you seem to be missing, milk is heavy, at around 3% fat it weighs over a ton for a square metre, milk fat when it comes out the cow is around 15% that they use and they use milk fat so a sq metre could weigh 1.5 ton, cocoa and ghana produces 800,000 ton's of cocoa bean....What you are saying is Ghana should import the heavier product instead of exporting the lighter one, a sq metre of dried and roasted cocoa, they should import possibly three times as much weight, ton's of milk fat, the more expensive option?
Then once you have increased the price, you are going to ship the heavier product further, back to the customers in NZ.
Please tell me how you think this would work better for the consumer, therfore the producer?
I'm not sure why Brics is mentioned but it's not about the staus quo, as we in the west are right now having to go through the idea of how are we going to transition to a post capitalism society, we need to move past it. You demanding that you should go down the same path of the west, that is currently killing the planet, is you being fooled into thinking that they way of the west is what should be followed. @cDTeVe

The problem with following the western way of doing things and Africa will because, the inhabitant believe the myths of what money means, then Africa and the poor of the world will be the destruction of the planet. There is no way around this if they treat money creation the same way. At the moment money is created through debt, created into existence by central banks, who then charge interest immediately. When you say it might not happen in our lifetime, well that depends on how old you are but in 80 years they will be almost half the planet and there are modern cities now pumping as much debt as they can into the economy, the Chinese are loaning money for projects instead of aid and food, or free clothes like western policies that keep industry down in those countries keeping people poor. We have to understand poverty is a man made problem, if you have your own land, your own food source with animals etc for clothes but very little money because you are self sufficient, but below the poverty line. I would call them richer than somebody renting an apartment with a good job. The western mode of poverty should not be something we feed into just because of what we are told is progress. @Boke-ji2ng
