What's wrong with socialist, the UK has many things that are socialised? We shouldn't look at the past as something we will repeat but as lessons of not how to do something, but to say you should look at any of these countries you mention as an example of you being right is also an error imo. All these things that have happened, haven't happened in a vacuum, they are responses, maybe too much privatisation and profits going to too few people and the majority suffering. These cycles have continued because our written history wasn't available to the masses as we have now, it doesn't mean we can't explore what is equitable because of very different times than we have now.

Just had a friend tell me that JW are the closest religion to god/truth and had somebody else say Judaism Christianity is the more fair and democratic religion and I said you only believe in christianity because of where you were born, if you were born elsewhere you would believe in Hinduism. Having religions that rely on things that were unthinkable, like blood transfusions, is open to ridicule, rightly so imo. With deaths and risen from the dead in all religions even thousands of years before the one in Buddhism, and of course Jesus, the problem is that people think it's a waste of time because it is nothing new and for thousands of years and it's never been an objective truth and that we are as ignorant as ever because of subjective beliefs. We have to admit we don't know, it could very well be that "GOD" is in everything alive, GOD could be the electrical energy that changes a cell from being a finger or a toe or a tree or a toad.

@debanydoombringer1385 Why should your talent mean anything, why should it mean you get more resources and other people starve to death or have to live on the streets? AGI is going to do away with a lot of what you call talent, why should you even look to the past as an example of balance, when it's so one sided?

@AJ_______ But we do have socialism with the free market. Hospitals, schooling until a certain age, police, fire, ambulance, these are all socialised, the roads dept, etc etc. Taxes are a form of socialism. We all live in a mix of capitalism and socialism. The issue at the moment is capitalism is forcing people onto the streets into homelessness, it quite frankly is destroying the planet with uncontrolled consumption, based entirely on how much money people have, more money doesn't usually go hand in hand with lower consumption.

@Pieguts123 You are offering nothing with your sarcasm, we have socialism under our way of life now in all western countries. What I am saying is at no time in history before are we able to live with such a detailed recording of history at our fingertips of what works and what doesn't and that at this time we know capitalism isn't so that we will have to find a new way. I'm not sure of what comment you are replying too as I have made three in this post, so if you have something of value to add or have an idea of another solution then please add that because as I say you have offered nothing of value with your "Wow!"

Yet humans try to make things easier and if we aren't making things easier for the next generation then what is the point? The steam train made things easier and I would say the cutting edge of tech today is just as amazing but part of the problem of "hard" is maintenance, it's after curiosity, it's after inspiration, it's after the suffering to "get somewhere", but because that part is boring, it's never appreciated as being the largest part of the issue and people are always looking for things that shouldn't exist after doing something for years, it's not like steam train producers were filled with curiosity or amazement their whole working lives.

@hegemony cricket But you don't know that. You are just regurgitating what you have been told. Imagine if we put a carbon value on everything and then everybody got carbon credits instead of money and their accommodation/shelter, basic food and healthcare were all supplied. Everybody got an equal amount of carbon credits that keeps the planet at a certain level. The credits can't be swapped or given away yet everybody can still "buy" what they can now, why is equality of outcome bad then? AGI ( artificial general intelligence ) is supposed to be the difference between fire and no fire to primitive man, we have zero clue how it's going to impact the future but it is supposed to be massive and less people are going to need to work, new ways are going to have to be explored for the future and not based on competition for resources.

@mrnice1976 Two things about that, Germany didn't raise itself because of people being humbled, it might have been circumstances that it had to react too but germans have very little humility, well none that I can see as far as their actions toward Russia are concerned and their current willingness to perpetuate war and second, suffering is supposed to become less isn't it, aren't we supposed to be making it easier for the next generations, otherwise what are we doing this for? To make it harder or to keep the same level seems a waste of time. "Reality is, you"...When you say "you" do you mean the human race or me personally as I don't see how "I" am perpetuating the next spell of destruction etc. I fully agree making things better doesn't in fact make them better, ie: imagine everybody had it easy enough to have 15 kids, that it wouldn't make it easier or better..Added In reality it seems harder to define success than suffering.

You could look at USA and the warmongering it does and then Russia wouldn't be doing what it is. @mrnice1976 The US world order is finished, without most of us realising we are living through it, because "America Good" theory that has been perpetuaed by our movies and USA is doing everything it can to keep war going, just so that the MIC can continue to make money, tens of thousands are dying for this as we speak. Since it dropped two nuclear bombs on civilians it has been responsible for millions of deaths to try and keep its hegemony, nothing else. The lies of WMD's, that any other country it would have been classed as the most egregious war crime, just because of fossil fuels and a million Iraqi's dead mean nothing to most people as they fill up their vehicles but it does to all of the middle east, same as Africa now who is with Russia, same as China who know that they will be next if USA keeps on going. BRICS is getting more and more people joining it and it's possible you will see the end of the Petro dollar in the next 5 years, which will mean the US dollar will dramatically fall in value. USA is very close to ending up like Israel, a military country. No-one has attacked USA, yet it hasn't stopped attacking since WW2. For the last 9 years "we" have been bombing russian civilians, for ten years before 9/11 we had been bombing others, two weeks before 9/11 a bomb making factory was blown up, yet it turned out to be a school and 32 children were killed. If a school over here got blown up by another country and 32 children were killed, we would be out for blood but because of the propaganda bubble we live in we are always told we are fighting on the side of being right yet no-one else in the world sees this. USA is not doing this for altruistic reasons so you have to ask yourself what else is it? Most people don't even know we have been bombing them and killing innocent civilians for the 8 years before Putin went in to stop it, all because our media is corrupted and won't give both sides of the argument but a biased one sided, whatever suits the Military Industrial Complex story. Africa is going to be almost half the worlds population by 2100, then it will be India and China next, all these countries are with Russia and its determination to not be taken over by USA, which they also will fight to the end to not let that happen, ignore that and it will be everybody's peril. USA is 4.2% of the worlds population now, with an army equal to the next nine countries put together, it's a war machine that must be fed and its whole society depends on it, yet we aren't told this truth or at the very least discussed. When USA is around 3.5% of the world does it really expect it this can continue? Socialism though in all western countries exists, I don't know what country you are supposed to have come from in the 80's but that has nothing to do with now. As I say socialism exists already in all western countries, it is the state saying what services we should all have and the cost socialised, the cost of global warming is going to be socialised. ESG is a form of socialism, maybe if you didn't get so triggered you would be able to have conversations without your sarcasm and your insults..

@ddz1375 Yes but saying because one person is a bully isn't what anybody is saying. Equity can work. Imagine a world where artificial general intelligence controls the outputs of who gets what and that it is based on equal shares, the human choice gets taken out so the bigger portion is not a issue. The future is not going to look like the past.

@ddz1375 You stating something of the past does not mean it will be the same as the future. Yes somebody has to make the algorithm but that doesn't mean there won't be oversight. We could have a carbon value of everything we consume in the future and everybody gets an equal share of carbon credits, that can't be shared, agi will be able to control this very easily without human interference,

Most of what he talked about could be changed by having a health and social security system, you don't need religion to fix fentanyl or homelessness.

@CristiNeagu Maintenance is much harder than achievement, our biological system of chemicals almost works against us to learn appreciation and say there isn't any more needed.
